Brother of Sri Lanka's dashing all-rounder, Chathuranga de Silva is a seasoned campaigner in Sri
Lanka Cricket. Chathuranga played 2 T20I matches and 7 ODIs for Sri Lanka and has been
sensational with both bat and ball throughout the years. Chathuranga who bowls left-arm leg-spin
and bats as a lower-order left-hand batsman has been known for his ability to clear the long
boundaries in pressure situations.
Chathuranga was a member of Two times LPL champions Jaffna Stallions in both seasons.
Chathuranga made his first-class debut for Moors Sports Club in 2009 as a 19-year-old youngster
and showed his abilities with both bat and ball. Chathuranga has been a regular member of the Sri
Lanka A team and his performance helped him to make his international debut in 2014.
Chathuranga currently plays for Nondescripts Cricket Club and has played 93 first-class games so
far while managing 5319 runs at a staggering average of 40.91 and has captured 220 wickets.
Chathuranga has managed 3095 runs at a strike rate of 107.42 hammering 4 centuries with the best
a score of 118 runs not out in his List-A career while capturing 159 wickets. Chathuranga has been
phenomenal in T20s managing 1079 runs with a strike rate of 123.17 while capturing 88 wickets
with a modest economy of 7.05 which made him into the 15 man squad of the World Cup-winning
Sri Lanka contingent in 2014.
