Hailing from Mahanama College, Colombo Chathura Randunu has been one of the best left-arm
leg spinners produced by Sri Lanka. Randunu has been in the domestic circuit for more than 14
years. Randunu made his first-class debut in 2008 for the Singha Sports Club and has managed
to capture 294 wickets in 78 first-class games with best figures of 12 wickets for 148 runs in a
match.
Randunu has been exceptional in List A capturing 87 wickets in 68 games with an economy of
4.19 and has captured 31 wickets in 36 games with an economy of 7.30 in T20s. Randunu was
selected for the Sri Lanka A team against the touring England Lions team and he was able to
capture the wickets of Moeen Ali and Johnny Bairstow.
Randunu has been supportive with the bat with 5 half-centuries under his name and managing
several 30-plus scores. Randunu has an average of 15.24 while batting at No. 9 and Randunu has
completed ECB level 2 and has gained experience as Junior Coach of Epsom Cricket Club, Head
Coach of Kent Lanka CC in Italy, and Junior and Assistant Coach Astley and Tyldesley
Manchester.
